Kaori Watanabe's career as a pianist began at the age of five. At an early age, Kaori was a strong competitor in various music competitions and became the recipient of several prizes from the Kawai Music Group during her youth. Kaori is a graduate from the Showa College of Music in Japan. After graduation, Kaori moved to the United States and received her Bachelor's Degree in Piano Performance from Chapman University School of Music with Dr. Joseph Matthews and Ms. Karen Knecht.
Kaori has experience performing as a solo artist in various colleges such as Cypress College and Santa Ana College as well as performing with the Santa Ana College's Chamber Orchestra. Kaori has participated in many master classes working with Lydia Boguslansky from Rowan University in New Jersey, James Bonn and Kevin Fitz-Gerald from the USC Thornton School of Music, Dr. Dmitry Rachmanov as well as Alison Edwards. Kaori is an active member of MTAC, CAPMT, MTNA, and JMAC. Kaori's students partake in the CM test annually as well as other piano competitions. Today, Kaori plays public performances and teaches students of all ages and musical backgrounds professionally.
